My Red Carpet Favourites at the 2015 Oscars!

23 Feb

Hey guys,

So the 87th Academy Awards took place today and here are my best dressed picks from the 2015 Oscars Red Carpet!

Dakota Johnson wearing Yves Saint Laurent at the 2015 Oscars

The leading actress of Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota Jonson looks absolutely stunning in this red YSL gown! I love the classic style and jeweled shoulder detail and the colour looks amazing on her!

Margot Robbie looks stunning in this plunging v-neck, black, flowy YSL gown with a high-split. Her amazing, massive, Zip Vintage Van Cleef & Arpels Necklace is beautiful and matches her gown perfectly too. The necklace has a lot of history being created for the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, in the 1930’s. The gold necklace, which features a diamond and sapphire tassel, can also be turned into a bracelet and is worth $1.5 million, or “more than her life”, according to the young actress.

Marion Cotillard wearing Christian Dior Haute Couture at the 2015 Oscars

Marion Cotillard looks beautiful in this Christian Dior Haute Couture gown. It is such a chic, elegant and classy style and classic black and white can never look bad on this star.

Naomi Watts looks stunning in this Armani Privé gown. I love the modern twist on this gown, with the built-in crop top and the colour and print is stunning. She looks like a mermaid!

Felicity Jones looks like a princess in this stunning Alexander McQueen gown. The colour and design is classic and stunning on the beautiful actress.

Giuliana Rancic wearing Australian/Lebanese designer Steven Khalil at the 2015 Oscars

Giuliana Rancic’s two Oscars looks were to die for! First of all wearing Australian/Lebanese designer Steven Khalil, the long-sleeve, white lace gown was absolutely stunning! Her second red sheer panel illusion gown by another Lebanese designer, Mireille Dagher, with floral embellishments and a slightly mermaid silhouette is equally beautiful on her and very figure-flattering. Mireille Dagher is a very popular Beirut fashion designer who is becoming very well-renowned, dressing lots of stars in stunning gowns. She paired her red look with Forevermark diamonds, Yves Saint Laurent heels and a Rauwolf clutch.

Behati Prinsloo wearing Armani Privé at the 2015 Oscars

I’m also loving this black sleek two-piece Armani Privé number with red beaded embellishments on Maroon 5’s lead singer, Adam Levine’s wife Behati Prinsloo. She looks stunning in these colours.

Chrissy Teigen wearing Zuhair Murad Couture at the 2015 Oscars

John Legend’s Sports Illustrated model wife Chrissy Teigen looks absolutely stunning in this sky/light blue and silver gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. What a stunning colour and design. I love the embellishments on the sleeve and plunging neckline, high-split and embellished belt and peplum design.

Julianne Moore wearing Chanel at the 2015 Oscars

Julianne Moore also sparkles and looks beautiful in this sequined white and black Chanel Haute Couture gown. Very chic.

I think that Zoe Saldana looks absolutely flawless and drop-dead gorgeous in this nude flowy Atelier Versace gown that perfectly highlighted her fit post-baby body. Can you belive she gave birth to twins only 3 months ago! She looks amazing. The colour is stunning on her and it truly is a sexy, curve/figure-hugging and very feminine gown.

WOW! What a classic, yet so chic and sleek black and white Tom Ford gown on Reese Witherspoon. It is absolutely stunning on the actress. I love it!

Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Ralph & Russo Couture at the 2015 Oscars

Gwyneth Paltrow looks very feminine and beautiful in this Ralph & Russo Couture custom-made, pale pink, silk-crepe gown, featuring a shoulder rosette of delicate oversized petals in gazar and organza. I love this colour on her and love the Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie’s Fire Phoenix (Red) Earrings and Pétales d’Amour Ring she paired with the dress, the red looks amzing with the pink.

Jennifer Lopez wearing Elie Saab Haute Couture at the 2015 Oscars

I’m loving this nude/blush Elie Saab Haute Couture floor-sweeping, ball gown that was embellished with sequins, pearls and stones and intricate 3-D appliqués, on Jennifer Lopez. Yet again she has chosen a Lebanese fashion designer and one of her favourites. The plunging neckline and tiny belt and details on the dress are absolutely stunning and she just floated on the red carpet. It’s very different from her usual figure-hugging gowns but she looks amazing and like a princess and absolutely dazzled in this gown!

Emma Stone wearing Elie Saab Haute Couture at the 2015 Oscars

Emma Stone looks equally stunning in this custom-made celery green, Elie Saab Haute Couture ravishing long-sleeve chartreuse. I love the colour on the red-head actress. The high-split and embellishments are beautiful and she has matched it with a bright orange lipstick which suits her perfectly. The colour also matches her skin-tone and hair colour to perfection.

Jennifer Aniston wearing Atelier Versace at the 2015 Oscars

I also have to say that Jennifer Aniston looks beautiful in this fully beaded Atelier Versace champagne, one-shoulder beaded gown. It is a stunning colour on her and very figure-flattering.

Anna Faris wearing Zuhair Murad Couture at the 2015 Oscars

Anna Faris also looked flawless in yet another amazing embellished metallic gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. She looks stunning in this gown!

Jenna Dewan-Tatum wearing Zuhair Murad Couture at the 2015 Oscars

Jenna Dewan-Tatum also chose a stunning white Zuhair Murad gown which had embellishments, an embellished silver belt and a plunging neckline. It was a stunning, fresh look on this beautiful actress.

Nudes and blush colours were really present on the red carpet this year at the Oscars as well as classic black and white.

There were so many beautiful gowns this year and so many Lebanese designers showcased too!

Do you guys agree with my favourites?

Let me know who was your best dressed picks!

The new style icon…Amal Alamuddin Clooney

4 Oct

Hi guys,

So it was the wedding weekend of hollywood star George Clooney and London-based British-Lebanese lawyer/barrister, activist, and author, Amal Alamuddin and from the pictures we have all seen of their magical weekend in Venice, Italy, her fashion and style is so amazing!

She is truly the epitome of elegance, class and grace and is absolutely stunning. I absolutely adore her style and taste! Every single one of her looks is to die for, and her and George Clooney look like the happiest couple.

Take a look at some of my favourite recent looks on Amal, or should I say Mrs. George Clooney, during their wedding weekend in Italy.

In this picture, she is dressed by classic and top designers, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli Couture and Stella McCartney. I love how classy she looks in the hat to match her super-chic, Stella McCartney, wide-leg cream jumpsuit/trousers.

The red gown is absolutely stunning on her olive skin and the Giambattista Valli Couture floral design is simply beautiful!

She also looks very elegant in the black and white striped dress.

These are just some of my favourite looks on Amal Alamuddin during their wedding weekend and there have been many more images of some of her past amazing looks, which you can check out by “googling” her name.

Now I can’t finish this post without mentioning her stunning custom-made, off-the-shoulder, Oscar de la Renta wedding gown.

It was made of French lace, hand-embroidered with pearls and diamanté accents and featuring a full circular train, worn with a cathedral-length, lace-edged veil.

The lace on her gown was crafted at the Sophie Hallette factory in France, one of the oldest lace factories in the world, which also provided the lace for the Duchess of Cambridge’s, Alexander McQueen wedding dress.

Take a look at some pictures of this spectacular gown here:

What do you guys think of this super stylish and intelligent woman?

They are such a hot couple!

The Royal Tour of Australia

22 Apr

Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has looked absolutely stunning during the Royal Tour of Australia.

Every outfit has been amazing and she is truly the epitome of beauty, class and elegance.

Take a look at some of my favourite looks from the tour by clicking on this link:

She is simply stunning in every single look!

My favourite however, would have to be Duchess Kate in this powder-blue coat, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. A flawless coat and one of the best I have ever seen. The detail of the coat, including the pleats at the back, make this coat spectacular.

Take a look…

What an amazing colour too!

Do you all agree?

My Best Dressed picks from the 86th Academy Awards

3 Mar

So it’s Awards season again and the 86th Annual Academy Awards took place today and I just could not wait to share with you my best dressed picks from the red carpet! Most of the gowns at the Oscars this year had jewel tones throughout them which I love.

Here they are….

Yet again, Sandra Bullock in a silk Alexander McQueen creation, tops my list in one of my favourite colours, Navy Blue! She tops this look off with the addition of amazing Lorraine Schwartz Jewels and Brian Atwood heels!

Kate Hudson, one of my favourite actresses looks amazing in this dazzling Atelier Versace gown which has a stunning plunging neckline which she pulls off so well! She adds Neil Lane jewels to take her look to the next level.

And I can’t leave an Aussie actress out! It just so helps that I also love her heavily embellished gown! Cate Blanchett looked beautiful in this soft, pastel and very detailed gold and silver shimmery Armani Privé gown. The jewels and intricate lace detail of the gown shines on the red carpet and complements her skin tone. She topped her look off with amazing jewels in the form of dazzling giant opal drops set in white gold by Chopard and Roger Vivier shoes. This Aussie has done us very proud this year! A very well-deserved win I think!

My next favourite is the magnificent Charlize Theron in this amazing black Christian Dior Couture gown which she paired with super glamorous Harry Winston jewels. You can never go wrong in classy and sophisticated black!

I loved this pink flowy Atelier Versace gown on Jada Pinkett Smith too. I would have to say this to me is her best red carpet look. Loving the high split, the detail in the gown and how it wraps around her curves and the colour looks amazing on her glowing skin tone! She pairs the gown with stunning Cartier jewels too.

I love how Penélope Cruz flowed in another very feminine pink, flowy Giambattista Valli gown on the red carpet. The pastel pink  colour was a big trend this year. She paired her gown with stunning Chopard jewels.

I also have to give a special mention to Angelina Jolie and Emma Watson who to me, also looked fabulous! Angelina Jolie dazzled in a glittery silver gown by Elie Saab Couture and Emma Watson stunned in her floor length Vera Wang, black and silvery shimmery metallic gown with minimal jewels to let the gown do all the talking! The simplicity of Emma’s look is what makes it so amazing and makes her stand out.

What do you guys think?

The new Duke & Duchess of Cambridge!

1 May

Hi everyone,

I am sure you all witnessed the spectacular Royal Wedding on Friday where the future Queen, beautiful Catherine Middleton’s wedding dress was finally revealed. All the specific details of the wedding were all kept secret in the months leading up to the big, special day but the suspense was over and the excitement of finding out who designed the dress was all revealed!

Catherine Middleton’s dress was the epitomy of classic elegance and she definitely is the epitomy of true beauty and class. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen (which was predicted as she was the fashion favourite to design it).

Ms Middleton’s veil was long, sheer and modern, showcasing her hair which she was wearing down. The simple yet very elegant veil placed by a Cartier halo tiara, lent to Ms Middleton by the Queen which she received at her 18th Birthday in 1963, was made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, which was embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

Her dress train measured over six feet, with long sleeves that were long and made of chantilly lace. The front of the dress was cut in a low V. Ms Middleton wanted her dress to combine tradition and modernity with artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen’s work. Ms Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.

The sweeping train measured just over six feet and was made with ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoed an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The ivory satin bodice, which was narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, drew on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and was a hallmark of Alexander McQueen’s designs. Her tiny waistline was shown off beautifully!

Ms Middleton was successful at keeping not only the look of the dress top secret, but the identity of the designer as well. Quite an accomplishment, considering every detail of the wedding was closely followed by a global media circus.

The princess bride wasn’t keeping dress details just from the public; she was keeping them from her husband-to-be. Prince William finally saw the beautiful gown after many of the wedding watchers. He was the last to see it! Ms Middleton went to great lengths to make sure he did not catch a glimpse of it until she met him at the altar.

Some pre-wedding rumors suggested that Ms Middleton was playing bridal dress roulette, commissioning three dresses for the day, with two backups in case the number-one dress was leaked to the press. Other reports suggested she’d created the gown herself. Her dress was said to resemble Princess Grace and Grace Kelly at their weddings.

What did you all think of her dress?

Her Reception gown was equally as spectacular, also another Alexander McQueen creation.

We all know Her Royal Highness, Kate Middleton was best dressed at the Royal Wedding, but her younger sister and Maid of Honour for the day, Pippa Middleton also dressed in Alexander McQueen looked just as beautiful. Many believe her dress echoed Jackie Kennedy’s famous Wedding dress.

What did you think of this numnber? I personally loved it!

Other guests at the Wedding included, the Beckhams, Prime Ministers from around the world, Sir Elton John, etc, all dressed to a tea!

I can imagine that there are many designers at the moment working hard to replicate the famous Wedding gown!

Until next time,

Alexander McQueen vs Missoni scarf?

18 Feb

Scarfs are a great accessory especially those with a hint of colour or a contrasting print to wear with a simple canvas. Looking for a perfect scarf is not easy, especially when you are comparing an Alexander McQueen scarf with a Missoni scarf. Ebay is great for finding scarves by these labels at incredibly appropriate prices especially Alexander McQueen scarves. Missoni scarves however are a little more pricy but they are an item that will never date so spending that little bit extra is always beneficial. I’m into both prints and they would both look great with plain colours. What print do you prefer and why?
